Thomas F. Lloyd grew up in Henrico county in a country atmosphere where now there are shopping malls where he use to ride his horse. While in grammar school, he use to hitch the horse to a buggy each morning and go meet his mother at the end of the bus line three miles away. His mother worked at Virginia Power Co. at night.
As a teenager he worked as a steamfitter’s helper, cut grass, construction work, and walked behind a homemade tractor his daddy made from an old 31 Chevrolet truck. His daddy drove the tractor and Tom held the plow hooked to the back rail.
After graduating from high school, Tom served two years in the United States Army and then returned to the job he held before entering the service with Glidden Paint Company. He served as inside salesman, territorial salesman, and metro manager.
Tom has written many songs, and three of them were recorded by Governor Jimmie Davis of Louisiana.
He loves to read and write, and has enjoyed writing his first book to be published.
